So my Brother in law has a project for our next Oct 2019 studio shoot that will require some of his talent to sing and present long, long lines of dialog. He thought of using a teleprompter and I told him I had built one (see link here) but it’s too big for our small mirrorless Sony cameras.
Hmmm…I bet I can DIY one with my 3D printer…
So I fired up the 3D printer, bought some plexiglass and downloaded some free software for my iPhone.

My older teleprompter was too big for camera.
Plus - it has glass for the screen - easy to break.
Found a template online for with a mini Swiss Arcus plate for tripod. It was in two parts.
Finished printing the part where the phone rests.
It also has a 45 degree holder for plexiglass.
Slide one piece into the other.
Attach the camera with a 1/4" camera bolt.
It's also adjustable.
Instead of glass, I decided to buy a small 8 X 10 piece of plexiglass. It does scratch easier but will be safer to transport.
Here it is with the plexiglass mounted at 45 degree angle. I can use a dark towel to lessen the light coming through.
Camera shoots through the glass and because of angle - it won't see the teleprompter type.
