They
say there's the ways things are and the way things should be.
The Iguanas should be up by one more win after last week, but
it just was not meant to be. The Lizards led by two runs in the
bottom of the sixth before The Mac managed to load the bases and
drive in the winning run for a time expired 7-6 win.

For the third straight
week, Lizard play displayed outstanding defense
featuring heads-up plays by Iguanas including Eric
M.(CF) with three catches, Tom O.(3B) with three
outstanding plays, Stacy T.(2B) with two big
catches and a part in a run down,Lori S.(1B) with
always great play, Gilberto S.(P) and Paul B.(SS)
with an early inning run down of a Mac base runner
between second and third and outfielders Mary S.,
Cindy Mc., Sandy L. and Dan C. with outstanding
hustle.

After a strong start,
Iguana hot bats cooled in the late innings as they
struggled, but just could not protect a three run
lead.
Dan,
Dan, he's our Man, If he can't do it, no one
can!
"You
know once every decade or so a really special guy steps up from
the ranks of mediocrity to show himself to be head and shoulders
above the rest. Sort of that Michael Jordan-esque type. The "Babe"
of the team. The one you can always count on to be there, Cal
Ripken style. He'll be the leader by example. He is the pre-gapped,
platinum tipped sparkplug who ignites his teammates and keeps
them running on all cylinders. Unfortunately we don't have one
of those, but we do have Dan," shared the coach.
Dan C.(LF) is as durable
and dependable as the VW Bug. He's dapper. He's
cool. He's known for his big bat and his Hoover
vacuum style play in left field, sucking up
everything within his 'Stretch Armstrong' like
reach. He's a veteran ball player on whose field we
are not worthy to tread. He's cute and he's
generous. And, most importantly, he's buying all
the festive beverages for the rest of the
season.
Always
there to help his teammates, Dan provides
shoulder massage therapy for all Lady
Iguanas after each game. While he has no
professional training in massage, Dan, did
build hand and finger strength working
summers on his Aunt Bessie's dairy
farm.
|
Ever
the health conscious, Dan returns to the
dugout after preparing a urine sample to
be delivered to the team
doctors.
|
Beaming
with pride, Dan's parent's look on as
their son "carries the
team."
