He’s on the path to Eagle Scout

EagleScoutPathMy son Joaquin had begun his “ascent” to becoming an Eagle Scout.

He’s been on this path for a while now and one of the most respected ranks in Boy Scouts is now within his sights.

I couldn’t be more proud.

He’s completed his Merit Badge requirements and now has to plan, present, raise funds, prepare, facilitate and build a project that will benefit the community. I’m proud to say that he’s chosen to help his former school, Blessed Sacrament Church/School. I can’t say too much about the project right now, but it’s very ambitious in my opinion. It will be tough to reach that summit, but I know he can do it.

He’s enlisted the help of his Uncle Martin and together (Mom and Dad included) we will map out the project. Joaquin has the support of the Blessed Sacrament Church, his Scout Master, Troop Brothers, friends and family to complete his project. ScoutMaster Rayfield already has 14 Eagle Scouts under his belt! We want Joaquin to be #15!

I decided to document this entire process so I’ll be posting more updates on my blog as he completes the many tasks at hand.

And don’t be too surprised if he “we” come a’calling for donations.

So, enough of the mushy stuff. ONWARD!

Okay…maybe one mushy photo. This photo was taken back in 2007 on his first camping trip with Troop 500. Click on it for a larger view – he’s gonna kill me…
