Schumacher Crossing Falls Day trip 3-14-17

by on Mar.16, 2017, under Creativity, Photography, Sony A6000

SonyA6500-tripod-fallsTMHad the wonderful opportunity to take a day photo trip with my buddy Conny (Imogen) this past Tuesday during my Spring Break vacation. Conny was wonderful enough to drive us up to Hunt TX in her Jeep.

Way cool.

I took my Sony A6500, tripod and optimistic attitude that we’d find some “stepped waterfalls” for me to shoot. I want to get that silky smooth flowing water by setting my camera on a tripod then slowing down the shutter speed. It made the water flow look like smoke! Loved it. One thing off my bucket list.

Renaissance Festival at La Villita Nov16

Master Falconer

Elizabeth, my friend Conny and I went to the Renaissance Festival at La Villita again this year. I wanted to see the Falconry show again but was blown away with all of the costumes and events being held. I took SO MANY pictures with my Sony A6000.

Love, love this little camera.

Finally whittled it down to 95! I’ve posted the gallery below so click on them for a larger view

I really had a great time – even got to shoot some stuff on the river as well – some silky smooth water falls.

Enjoy the gallery after you click the “read more” link below.

Flyaway Band performance

by on Oct.10, 2016, under Creativity, Photography, Sony A6000

Had and opportunity to photograph another friend’s band at “sort of” local venue. Took both my Nikon and Sony and was pleasantly surprised with the results.

Monster-Con 2016

by on Sep.25, 2016, under Creativity, Film making, Sony A6000, Video

Went to Monster-Con 2016 with my daughter this year. Had a blast. I wanted to go see the Zombie Pinup content but sadly it was canceled. We did stick around to see all of the people in their costumes (lots of clowns) and since Emmy wanted to take pictures, I lent her my Nikon D7000 and I took my Sony A6000 but shot video instead on my stabilizer. First time doing that but look at the video below:

I’ll post more pics from Emmy once she goes through them, but again, we had a blast.

Brews and Blooms festival 9-10-16

by on Sep.11, 2016, under Creativity, Photography, Sony A6000

So yesterday, Elizabeth, Berna and I attended the Brews and Blooms festival at the Botanical Gardens. Event started at 6:30pm and ended at 9:30pm.

It was a good event (in theory) and since I’d never been to the Botanical Gardens, Elizabeth didn’t have to twist my arm as long as I could bring my camera.

“WHAT! You’re a photographer and never been there!?”

I know, I know, but it was fun albeit a little poorly organized in my opinion. They gave you these little 4oz glasses and you’d stand in line for a 2oz portion which you would finish in a minute or two then go stand back in line. The good news is that they let you bring lawn chairs and you could “stake” you location and wander off to find food, beer and listen to music. The Botanical Gardens are great for daytime or dusk viewing but it sucks at night. I played around with my Sony and got some good pics plus we did have a good time.

I posted a gallery below. Click on the images for a larger view.
