Mini Lego Batman Tumbler (Batmobile) 1-31-15

by on Jan.31, 2015, under Action Figure Photography, Creativity, Movies, Photography, Sony A6000

Most of you know how big of a Batman fan I am. I especially love, love the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy and I’m especially fond of the new Batmobile or the Tumbler as it’s called. It even came to San Antonio one time and I was there..taking pictures. Click on this link to see them.

About three weeks ago I happened by the Lego Store in North Star Mall and saw the BIG LEGO Batmobile. $200 bucks,

Yeah…no way I’m getting that.

But I did find a smaller version of it. I looked online and found one but there is actually a “used” Lego store here in SA, so I called, they had one and I went and bought it. Came home and built it. Love it so I took pics in Macro mode with my Sony A6000. You can view the pictures below. Click on them for a larger view.

Yup – I never will grow up.

Messing around with shooting some “old” action figures I dug up. I like these.

I tried different lighting techniques on my desk.

A single and then a more “sharper version” of above. You can click on the images for a larger view.

RC + GoPro = Fun

by on Jan.04, 2013, under Action Figure Photography, Creativity, Film making, Video

Look at what my Nephew brought over for me to “borrow.”

I’m gonna mount my GoPro on it…I put the phone in there for scale. Another photo without it below.

And the turret works too…

It’s killing me that I’ll have to travel this weekend so I’ll just have to think of the ways I’m gonna use this…stay tuned.

Another photo of my 6″ Batman Action Figure

by on Dec.27, 2012, under Action Figure Photography, Creativity, Photography

Got in inspired to practice shooting. So I got an LED light, set up my Batman Rises Action Figure on my desk and snapped a couple of photos.

F2.8 – 1/500th Shutter – ISO 200 – Aperature Priority – RAW format

Opened it in Photoshop Camera Raw, added some Clarity, then in Photoshop – cleaned up some dust (gotta remember to dust them prior to shooting!) and then cropped it.

I like it.

PS – had to add a new category to my blog – Action Figure Photography.

My Dark Knight Returns Action Figure

by on Dec.14, 2012, under Action Figure Photography, Creativity, Photography

Messing around with my Nikon Speedlight SB600 and DIY grid to take this photo on my desk.

Just a quick post to show you a photo I took, on my desk using my Nikon Speedlight SB600 with my rain gutter snoot grid. On Monday Liz and I took the day off and we went X-Mas shopping…and well, I had to buy myself  “some things”

One of them was this cool The Dark Knight Returns “ACTION FIGURE” to go along with my Tumbler.

That’s the story I’m sticking with….

I had the 6″ “ACTION FIGURE” sitting on my desk in front of one of my speakers and decided to take a picture of it…creatively. Like I did the others. See here.

Spiderman and the Hulk

I like the way it came out with the speaker buttons in the back.

Oh and here is a picture without the flash, just sitting on my desk. I put the Speedlight with the DIY grid and iPhone in for scale.

PS – note to self, dust off your ACTION FIGURE, it minimizes the amount of Photoshop clean up afterwards.
